MR Magazine

Project Overview

Role
Art Director

MR Magazine is a longstanding voice in the menswear industry, blending commerce and culture through in-depth features, trend insights, and fashion editorials.

As Art Director, I was brought in to evolve the publication’s visual identity: refreshing the layout design while honoring its heritage. My work spans full editorial layout systems, typography, and production oversight, ensuring each issue is executed with clarity, consistency, and polish.

⟣ Editorial Layout System

I led the development of a flexible layout system built on strong typographic hierarchy, clean grids, and thoughtful pacing. Alongside structured editorial design, I created visual moments like the MR Awards feature, using color, scale, and graphic layering to spotlight key voices in menswear. This blend of structure and expression enhances readability while creating space for content to resonate with impact.

⟣ Collaborative Editorial Process

Each issue is shaped through close collaboration with the founder, editor, publisher, and internal team. From early content planning to final layout approvals, this ongoing dialogue ensures that every edition reflects a shared vision and maintains the publication’s editorial integrity.

⟣ Integrated Design System

From designer profiles and trend reports to market overviews and brand features, I established a design system that brings structure and consistency across diverse content types. This ensures a seamless experience for readers while maintaining the magazine’s visual identity throughout.
